For this photo-shoot we found odd pieces that wouldn't usually be part of a fashionable outfit, and made a quirky look out of them. This shoot is full of overly puffy coats, parachute shirts, bath robes, and shimmery pants.

I found this shirt while searching through the racks of Salvation Army for a good Halloween costume. I don't know if I planned on wearing it for everyday purposes or for a costume, but I do know that I absolutely love it. |

I got this bathrobe in San Francisco in Chinatown. It's so beautiful–it's reversible (blue and pink) and has a dragon on the back. |

Here Fern is wearing an Arizona vest my Grandmother bought me, and when done right, can actually make a cool look. Try to pair it with either skinny jeans or leggings and a not-too-busy top. |
For this look we accentuated Suri's blue eyes by doing a pale pink shadow on the outer corners and a shimmery white around the tear ducts. Try making your eye color pop by trying out a different color shadow like this. |
You can make the puffy coat work! Try fitted pants (skinny jeans or leggings) a patterned tunic, and a pair of cute boots.
For this look we did have a hippy influence with the big sleeves and free hair kind of thing. Remember, having a style influence can work sometimes as long as you don't go over the top and completely copy the look.
For this outfit we did, yes, two patterns at once. I know what you're thinking: This is a no no. Well, in some cases it is, but if you do it right you can pull it off. Try maybe two simple patterns like polka dots and stripes or a solid colored piece with punched holes or flowers with another patterned piece. And try maybe similar colors when working with complicated designs or the opposite. |
If you want to try something bold like this top, try pairing it with denim shorts tucked in. Also, it'd be a very cute look if you paired it with knee high socks and ankle boots. And if you really want, go for the head band. :) Just kidding please don't do that, there'll be way too much going on and you'll look maybe a little too insane. |
I hope this helps you think outside of the box about your style. And this doesn't mean you have to go outside in a bathrobe, just keep an open mind in terms of your fashion sense and expand on your wardrobe!
